Install firefox on debian(wheezy) amd64 gnome
I downloaded firefox-21.0.tar.bz2, put it in directory /opt, untarred it, created symlink:
ln -s /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox
I created firefox.desktop, so I can find firefox in activities -> applications and after double click on icon I get something like "unable start child process in /usr/bin/firefox, file not exists etc." (I got this yesterday, but today I have not any error messages but I still can not start firefox: I see only spining icon instead of my cursor and firefox disapear from top bar without success).
Who has installed firefox on his machine successfully?
